Shea, private Walnut company that controls eight businesses ranging from golf course and resort builder to concrete producer. Shea Homes sold 165 residences in Orange County last year, most of any builder in county. Shea Properties sold off at least $200 million of apartment and retail holdings in last several months, including Alameda County shopping center for $44 million. Business founded in 1881 by patriarch J.F. Shea. Construction unit built American public works icons Golden Gate Bridge and Hoover Dam.
