Clearlake Capital Group LP on Thursday said it led a management-backed acquisition of Chicago electronic data discovery provider Inventus LLC, its second tech deal this month.
The Santa Monica investment firm specializes in special situation buyouts and other acquisitions of companies. It said the investment group included Inventus’ management team and New York firm Cerca Group LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Inventus provides e-discovery services for clients that include global law firms, Fortune 1000 corporations and government agencies. The company will remain in Chicago and Trevor Campion will continue as chief executive.
“We are excited to partner with Inventus at this important time in the company’s growth trajectory,” said Clearlake principals Behdad Eghbali and Prashant Mehrotra said in a statement.
Clearlake earlier this month agreed to buy a unit of Agilysys Inc., an IT company in Alpharetta, Ga., that provides services to retailers.
