The Ayzenberg Group on Tuesday said that it acquired The Social Method, a social media marketing agency based in Tustin.

The Pasadena digital marketing creative branding company said the deal not only adds significant social media expertise, but also access to proprietary real-time analytics for social activity monitoring, management and measurement. The Social Method’s co-founder, Rebecca Markarian, and her staff will relocate to Ayzenberg’s offices in Pasadena, expanding Ayzenberg’s social media marketing team to more than 35 people, and 115 company-wide.

Terms of the deal are not disclosed.

“Using social media to drive purchases for our clients is the next big step in social marketing,” said Eric Ayzenberg, chief strategist and chief creative officer, in a statement. “We now have a team that has been pioneering this methodology for the past several years on our side, and that’s a major opportunity for Ayzenberg and the brands we represent.”

The Social Method, which has a specialty in entertainment and video games, was co-founded in 2009 by Markarian, who previously worked on major brands such as Old Spice, Land Rover and Hilton Hotels. Ayzenberg, founded in 1993, has had clients that include Activision-Blizzard, AT&T, and the Walt Disney Co.
