Tour to Take Tawdry Turn With Stars

Want to see where some Hollywood stars famously misbehaved? Well, now you can. Starline Tours and TMZ are launching the TMZ Hollywood Tour – Secrets and Celebrity Hot Spots.

The tour, set to begin May 1, will stop at infamous locations such as Beverly Hills’ Saks Fifth Avenue department store where Winona Ryder got busted for shoplifting and the comedy club where “Seinfeld” star Michael Richards unleashed his racist rant.

Most tours traditionally have driven to stars’ homes and hit the landmarks along Hollywood Boulevard and the like. The new tour will go through the city of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, and all the highlights where the stars go, said Vahid Sapir, president at Hollywood-based Starline, which offers bus tours of celebrity homes and L.A. landmarks. Sapir declined to comment on how the partnership with TMZ came about.

He said Starline is building a 24-seat minibus for the tour. Tickets, which will cost about $69, are set to go on sale March 28.

TMZ did not comment.

Its website specializes in the bad behavior of the rich and famous. There’s also a TMZ TV show that features paparazzi-style ambush interviews of celebrities arriving at or leaving restaurants, nightclubs and airports.

Sapir said TMZ will be writing the script for the tour, which will include video clips of TMZ staffers commenting on the scandalous stories.

Tour riders may even get to see a TMZ paparazzi ambush in action. That’s because tour guides will carry cameras to snap celebrities spotted along the tour route.

Sapir is hoping the tour will bring a boost in business.

“People are watching the website and they see the TV program, they are all followers of this program,” he said. “So I’m sure they’ll have an interest to get on the tour.”
