Shares of Internet advertising company ValueClick Inc. jumped more than 9 percent Monday after a Wall Street analyst upgraded shares to a “buy.”

Benchmark Equity Research analyst Clayton Moran said that the Westlake Village company’s comparison shopping websites should benefit from Google’s new “Instant search” feature.

“Our analysis and channel checks into Google Instant have shown an increased importance for retail keyword terms related to ‘coupons’ and ‘promotions,’ due to Google Suggest,” wrote Moran in a client note. “We believe affiliate marketers may experience a surge in traffic and sales.

Shares closed up $1.16, or 9.4 percent, to $13.47 on the Nasdaq.
