Pictage, a Torrance company that operates an online service for professional photographers, on Thursday said that it acquired niche software developer ShootQ.

ShootQ, based in Atlanta, makes web-based software for managing the business of professional photographers, such as handling their marketing and selling their work.

Pictage, which operates an online site for wedding and portrait photographers that allows clients to browse and order photos, said the combination would make its service a better investment for professional photographers.

“This step creates the first single source, end-to-end solution with most of the support services necessary to succeed in the business of professional photography,” Chief Executive Jim Collins said in a statement.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
