Northrop Grumman on Wednesday said it had been awarded a contract worth up to $550 million for training and other services for the Saudi Arabian National Guard.

The contract, awarded through the U.S. Army, will be carried out by a subsidiary of the Los Angeles defense contractor, Vinnell Arabia LLC. Under the terms of the contract, Vinnell Arabia will provide U.S. Army-based doctrine and military training throughout the kingdom, as well as logistics and support services.

“We look forward to continuing to raise our collective bar of excellence with the SANG program, which is an essential force in the long-term defense of the Kingdom,” said Robert S. Coffey, Vinnell Arabia program general manager, in a press release.

Shares were down $1.27, or 2 percent, to $57.67 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
