Azcar Technologies Inc. said it has acquired a controlling interest in Matchframe Video LLC, a Burbank full-service media company serving the motion picture, television and multimedia industries, for an undisclosed amount.

Azcar, a broadcast and multi-media consulting, design and engineering company in Ontario, Canada, said late Tuesday that it plans to leverage Matchframe’s post production facilities and location in the Los Angeles area to capture more Hollywood clientele for both companies.

“By having access to Azcar’s deep technical resources, Matchframe will be able to provide very sophisticated media services optimized to our client’s specific needs,” Azcar Chief Operating Officer Gavin Schutz said in a statement. “We intend to provide these services to mid-level or smaller clients who currently are not able to be serviced by the large, ‘factory based’ postproduction facilities.”

Matchframe Video has been in business for more than 25 years.
