Beverly Hills private equity firm OpenGate Capital said Monday that it sold one of its portfolio companies, Global Star Solutions, to a management-led buyout team.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. OpenGate acquired Global Star, a Richmond, B.C. supplier of network infrastructure products, in June 2008 from UTStarcom Inc. of Alameda, according to a UTStarcom regulatory filing.
“This transaction marks yet another successful exit for OpenGate, as well as a bright new chapter in the future of Star Solutions,” said OpenGate Managing Partner Andrew Nikou in a statement.
OpenGate last week announced it was acquiring auto-parts manufacturer Gabriel North America from ArvinMeritor Inc. for an undisclosed price. The firm bought TV Guide magazine in October and acquired two French children’s magazine publishing businesses in June.
