Tetra Tech Inks $30 Million Wind Deal

Tetra Tech Inc. said Thursday that one of its recent acquisitions has been awarded three wind energy projects on the East Coast valued at more than $30 million.

The Delaney Group division of the Pasadena-based company will help develop infrastructure to support the Noble Altona, Chateaugay, and Bellmont wind parks in northern New York state.

Last April, Tetra-Tech purchased New York-based Delaney Group, an engineering firm that specializes in wind power facilities, for an undisclosed sum.

The projects will support clean energy infrastructure development and could provide more than 231 megawatts of power when finished, Tetra Tech said in a statement. The wind farms are owned and developed by Essex, Conn.-based Noble Environmental Power.

When done, the wind farms will have 154 turbines capable of creating enough power for more than 84,000 homes, the company said. The work will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, Tetra Tech said.

Shares in Tetra Tech closed up 2.3 percent to $26.50 Thursday.
