Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. said Monday that it has signed a deal with Irvine-based set-top-box maker Humax Co. to include its digital programming guides on the company’s equipment.

The multiyear licensing agreement, which places Gemstar’s interactive program guides on Humax’s boxes, includes digital televisions and digital recorders, Los Angeles-based Gemstar said in a statement. Financial terms of the deal or other specifics were not disclosed.

Gemstar said in December that it is being acquired by Santa Clara-based Macrovision for $2.8 billion. The deal is expected to close this summer.

Shares in Gemstar were up 2.4 percent to $4.67 in early trading Monday on the New Nasdaq.
