An Italian shoe and sportswear maker has dropped its trademark lawsuit against competitor Skechers U.S.A. Inc. without giving a reason, according to reports Monday.

The closely held U.S. unit of Diadora SpA, last week voluntarily filed a notice of dismissal of the infringement case in federal court in Seattle, Bloomberg News reported.

Manhattan Beach-based Skechers was accused in the original Feb.12 complaint of copying a design on most Diadora shoes a stylized “V” turned on its side.

Shares of Skechers were down 3 cents to $20.43 in trading at midday after dropping as low at $19.80 earlier in the session.
