Capstone Lands Russian Deal

Shares in Capstone Turbine Corp. gained more than 4 percent Monday after the alternative power and microturbine systems maker said it received its first order for a new product.


The Chatsworth-based company said it received a $2 million order for its C1000 MicroTurbine power system from Russian distributor, Banking Production Center.


The new 1000 megawatt power systems will be installed in a new caviar farm in Russia as well as three other power systems that will be installed in the Ukraine and Belarus, Capstone said in a statement.


Shares in Capstone were up 4.3 percent to $3.92 in early trading Monday.
