CalAmp Renews Customer Shipments

CalAmp Corp. said Monday that it resumed shipments to its largest customer after resolving an issue over the performance of certain broadcast satellite equipment.

The Oxnard-based wireless communications company did not name the customer, but in December the company halted all shipments to EchoStar Technologies Corp. which accounted for about half its business after circuit boards in some satellite dishes prematurely deteriorated.

CalAmp and EchoStar, which operates the Dish Network, previously had reached a compensation agreement on the failures. The Englewood, Colo. satellite TV provider was given shares and warrants of CalAmp stock, as well as a $5 million promissory note. In return, EchoStar agreed to pay some accounts receivable.

Shares in CalAmp were up 1 penny to $2.52 in afternoon trading Monday.
