Genius Products Moves to Pink Sheets

Genius Products Inc. said Tuesday its stock had been de-listed from the OTC Bulletin Board because the Santa Monica media company was unable to report its third quarter results on time due to prior quarterly restatements.

The company’s stock, delisted Dec. 24, is now on the Pink Sheets under its GNPI ticker. Delisting from the over-the-counter board happens automatically when a company is late in filing quarterly or annual reports three times in a two-year period.

The company said it anticipates it soon will file its third quarter 2008 report, but was delayed due to an accounting error that will require a noncash restatement for six quarters and the 2006 and 2007 fiscal years.

Chief Executive Trevor Drinkwater in a statement said the company intends to move back to the bulletin board and even seek listing on a regular exchange after completing a required 12 months of current reporting.

Genius Products, along with Weinstein Co. Holdings LLC, owns Genius Products LLC, which acquires, produces, and licenses a library of motion picture, television shows, and trend entertainment on digital formats. Content sources range from Weinstein Co. films to Animal Planet shows
