IPC The Hospitalist Company Inc. said Monday it made its 10th acquisition of the year, buying National Medical Affiliates Inc. in Punta Gorda, Fla. for an undisclosed amount.
North Hollywood-based IPC, which manages hospital-based physician practices, said the acquisition increases its presence in the southwest Florida market.
“As an in-market acquisition, NMA brings added efficiencies to our operations and considerably strengthens our position in this important market,” said Chief Executive Adam Singer in a statement.
IPC shares were up 2 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $15 in morning trading on the Nasdaq despite an overall market downturn.
