Vernon-based BCBGMaxAzriaGroup Inc. has laid off 125 employees across all areas of the company’s operations, according to a company spokesperson.

The layoffs represent less than 10 percent of the workforce at the upscale clothing company. The action was taken about two weeks ago, said the spokesperson, who declined to be identified.

BCBGMazAzriaGroup, founded by French-born designer Max Azria in 1989, has 22 brands and 475 retail stores worldwide, including 180 in the United States.

In Los Angeles County, the company has its headquarters in Vernon and 13 boutiques, both freestanding and in malls.
