Zenith National Insurance Corp. said former Assembly Speaker Fabian N & #250; & #324;ez has been appointed to its board of directors.

N & #250; & #324;ez of Los Angeles was termed out of the legislature this year. He recently became a partner and co-chair of Mercury Public Affairs LLC.

He was elected to the California State Assembly in 2002 and served as its speaker from 2004 through November 2008.

Woodland Hills-based Zenith is a property-casualty insurance organization with a large national workers’ compensation insurance business. N & #250; & #324;ez was an architect of the workers’ comp reform package that passed the legislature a few years ago.
