The Valley Industry and Commerce Association on Monday named Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce lobbyist Brendan Huffman as its next president and chief executive.
Huffman, 35, succeeds VICA’s longtime President and Chief Executive Bonny Herman, who left the organization in January to run the California Center for Regional Leadership.
Huffman has spent the last four years at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce as that organization has beefed up its advocacy efforts. He has led annual chamber lobbying trips to Sacramento and Washington D.C. and has formed coalitions of local business groups on key public policy issues impacting business.
Huffman has a “track record as a tenacious and proven leader at the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce,” VICA chairman Robert Scott said Monday. He also has a track record for “innovative and collaborative creation of unlikely coalitions on issues including business tax reform, transportation and workers’ compensation costs,” Scott said. “Huffman will definitely vault VICA in a new direction.”
Huffman, a third-generation Angeleno, lives in Studio City.
