Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said Tuesday that it received a consulting contract from a county in northwest England that is upgrading its highway system.

The Lancashire County Council awarded what is called framework agreement contract in connection with a $258 million project to link Heysham and the M6 highway.

Pasadena-based Jacobs did not disclose the terms of the three-year contract, which includes an optional one-year extension.

Jacobs Engineering shares rose 10 cents, or less than 1 percent, in trading Tuesday morning on the New York Stock Exchange.
