American Pilots Plan Demonstration

American Airlines pilots are planning to demonstrate at several airports as well as at corporate headquarters of some of the airlines’ largest customers and shareholders on Tuesday.

The Allied Pilots Association says the demonstrations, which will include LAX, are part of an effort to call attention to the airlines’ poor performance and customer service, said Monday. Los Angeles World Airports was unaware of any demonstration and said they do not anticipate any delays or disruptions due to the demonstration.

Also involved in the demonstrations will be elect corporate headquarters in nine cities including New York, Dallas, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, St. Louis, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and even London.

This comes days after American canceled more than 3,000 flights between April 8 and April 13 due to inspections of its aging MD-80 jets. American returned to a full, normal schedule Sunday.
