Update:

This year, we won a new piece of business called ProMax, which is a big national ad account in the package work area. We are doing a fully integrated marketing and advertising campaign. We also won a large multinational non-profit organization, AIDS Healthcare Foundation. We are doing an international branding assignment for them. I just bought a new building for the company in August of 2007.

Early Days/Financing:

I worked in advertising for about 10 years before I started my own company. In 1992 there was a recession. I saw a change in the business. Large agencies were cutting back on the ability of senior people to handle client business. I saw the opportunity for an agency that would allow senior-level executives to develop relationships with clients.

Big Break:

One of our early accounts was a whole campaign for IndyMac Bank for a program called Loan Works in 1994. Then we did an account with UCLA Healthcare because we were involved with innovative media.

Biggest Challenge:

Not being afraid to take risks. Sometimes you have to invest in a new business person or make a large purchase, like our new building. You have to have confidence, a big vision and deliver results. Another risk is letting go. At some point, business owners have to give responsibility to other people and trust that they’ll do a great job and make you look good.
