Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd., the owner of the well-known Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel on Santa Monica Blvd., announced a new managing director effective in December.

Offer Nissenbaum will replace Ali Kasikci who resigned from the Peninsula this past summer after 16 years with the hotel.

Nissenbaum currently works for Omni Hotels, where he is a regional vice president of operations responsible for 9 hotels.

A graduate of Paul Smith College in New York where he studied hotel and restaurant management, Nissenbaum has also held positions at the Plaza Hotel in New York, the Doral Saturnia International Spa Resort in Miami, and the Doral Tuscany Hotel in New York which is now a W Hotel.

Kasikci, who will be working across town at the Montage Beverly Hills on Canon Dr. when it opens in fall 2008, left the Peninsula after transforming it from a money loser to one of the few five-star and five-diamond hotel in Southern California and one of the most profitable in the area.
