THQ Inc. said Wednesday that it has acquired Finnish mobile video game maker Universomo Ltd.

The Agoura Hills-based video game developer said the move is an effort to expand its reach into the mobile gaming market.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Shares in THQ were down 34 cents to $34.59 in afternoon trading Wednesday on the Nasdaq.
