J2 Global Communications Inc. named Kathy Griggs as its chief financial officer.

Griggs will assume the duties of Scott Turicchi, who will remain a co-president of the Los Angeles-based company. Previously, Griggs, 52, served as CFO of software firms SonicWall Inc. and QAD Inc.

Shares in J2 hit a 52-week high on June 1, three months after hitting a 52-week low in February. Shares were down 2 cents to $33.95 in afternoon trading Wednesday on the Nasdaq.
