El Segundo’s Internet Brands Inc. has agreed to acquire DoItYourself.com, a leading independent home improvement and home repair website.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Privately held Internet Brands operates media and e-commerce sites for large ticket consumer purchases, including CarsDirect.com, Autos.com, GreenHybrid.com as well as LoanApp.com, Loan.com and RealEstateABC.com.

“We’re delighted to add DoItYourself to our portfolio of sites that help people make better decisions and save time and money,” said Internet Brands Chief Executive Bob Brisco.

Several of DoItYourself.com’s affiliated Web sites were not included in the acquisition, including FreeAdvice.com and HardwareandTools.com, which will continue to be operated by the founders of DoItYourself.com.

Internet Brands was founded in 1998 as CarsDirect and adopted the new name in 2005.
