DVD distributor Image Entertainment Inc. said it has entered into a multi-year agreement with NBC Universal Television Distribution to release 14 motion pictures originally produced for the Sci Fi Channel’s popular Saturday night movie franchise.

The Sci Fi is one of the biggest commissioners of original movies in the United States. Chatsworth-based Image said late Monday that it plans to enhance a number of these titles with ancillary features for release on DVD in North America. In addition to DVD rights, Image will make the titles available for digital download.

“Terminal Invasion,” starring cult-favorite Bruce Campbell (“Army of Darkness”), will be among the first releases from the agreement, along with the highly rated “Manticore” with Jeff Fahey (“Lawnmower Man”).
