Ameron International Corp. reported third quarter net income of $18.7 million ($2.02 per share), a 72 percent jump from $5.7 million ($1.58) for the same period a year earlier.
Sales for the Pasadena-based maker of steel, fiberglass and reinforced concrete pipes were up 8 percent to $193 million.
The numbers were credited to strong sales of the company’s fiberglass-composite pipes, which grew 30 percent, as well as the sale of its worldwide coatings and finishes business, which closed at the beginning of August.
Ameron shares were down $3.73 in early trading on Friday to $65.86.
