Sylmar-based aerospace glass maker Sierracin Corp. has been acquired by PPG Industries.

PPG, based in Pittsburg, supplies aircraft windshields and windows for commercial, military and general aviation aircraft and had sales of $10 billion in 2005. Privately held Sierracin employees about 600 and has been in business for more than 50 years.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
