Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said Tuesday that one of its subsidiaries has received a contract related to the design of the new Qatar Petroleum complex in Doha, Qatar.

The Pasadena-based engineering and consulting firm said it will provide services and infrastructure consulting and work directly with Chicago-based architectural and engineering firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to develop the site just outside of the northern Doha city limits.

The development will include approximately 2.1 million square feet of commercial, educational, leisure and medical facilities as well as a 1.1 million square-foot parking structure. The project is to be completed around 2010. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Separately, Jacobs also won a contract to provide engineering services to United Kingdom water supplier Thames Water as part of a $5.7 billion re-development project expected to extend past 2010. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Thames Water, which supplies water to more than 13 million people in London and beyond, is one of the U.K.’s largest water-management firms.
