Hewlett-Packard Co. said late Monday that it has extended an existing contract with El Segundo-based DirecTV Group Inc. to provide IT services for additional seven years.
The deal is reportedly worth around $500 million over the life of the contract.
The deal means that HP will continue to provide IT services for DirecTV in addition to billing and non-billing services, data center operations, database support, application support, disaster recovery and support for new technologies, in addition to other services.
Shares in DirecTV were up 15 cents to $19.05 in early trading Tuesday while Palo Alto-based HP saw shares dip 15 cents to $36.25.
