L.A. Gas Prices Continue to Drop

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles Area was $3.027 for the week ended Sept. 4, down 1 cent from the previous week, according to the Energy Information Administration.


L.A. prices are still 2.3 cents higher than a year ago. Statewide, the average price was $3.01, down 8.8 cents from the previous week and 4.6 cents lower than a year ago.


Nationwide, Los Angeles still had the highest average price of gas of major cities, while Cleveland had the lowest. California was the most expensive state and Ohio the least.
