Megan Forsythe Barnett, a vice president of corporate human resources for Walt Disney Co. has died from complications due to an aortic dissection. She was 47.

The Michigan-native moved to California with her husband, Peter, in 1989 and worked for Pizza Hut/Pepsi Co. as the director of Human Resources in Irvine. She moved to Hollywood in 1994 to work as vice president of human resources for Universal Studios Theme Park. She worked at Eastman Kodak Co. and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles before joining Disney.

She died on Sept. 29. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Logan and daughter Audrey; her mother, Lenore Forsythe; sister, Kate Heys; and brother, Duncan Forsythe.
