First Consulting Group Inc. said Tuesday that its President and board member Steven Heck resigned effective immediately.

The Long Beach-based healthcare consulting and outsourcing firm said Heck quit to pursue other interests.

In separate news, the company announced the appointment of Donald Driscoll as a senior vice president. Driscoll has working for more than 30 years in the hospital information systems industry and has held senior management positions at American Express Information Services and McDonald Douglas Health Services.

Shares in First Consulting closed down 39 cents to $10.91 Tuesday.
