Crown Media Holdings Inc. said Thursday that Brian Stewart was appointed the company’s new chief financial officer effective immediately.

Stewart, 42, was formerly senior vice president of finance for Crown Media and has served as interim chief financial officer since Sept. 30, when William Ailber resigned.

The Los Angeles-based entertainment company has seen its chief executive and chief operations officers also resign in the past several months. Crown named Henry Schleiff its chief executive a month ago and is currently looking for a replacement chief operations officer Paul FitzPatrick.

Stewart has been with Crown for more than seven years and played a key role in the company’s initial public offering in 2001. Prior to joining Crown, Stewart held financial positions with Hallmark Entertainment Inc., Univision Communications and Hallmark Cards.
