OSI Systems Inc. reported first quarter net loss of $6 million (-36 cents per share) up from a $4.2 million loss (-26 cents) for the same period a year earlier.
Revenues for the Hawthorn-based healthcare and security equipment manufacturer were up 13 percent to $115.5 million. The company said it was disappointed with its higher-than-expected loss and attributed it to the softness in the U.S. healthcare market.
Shares in OSI closed up 5 cents to $20.22 in trading Tuesday.
