– Hilton Hotels Corp.

and casino operator Las Vegas Sands Corp. agreed to build a 1,200-room Hilton Hotel and a 300-room Conrad Hotel in the Cotai strip Las Vegas Sands is developing on the Chinese island of Macau. The complex will feature 300,000 square-feet of Conrad-branded vacation suites operated by Beverly Hills-based Hilton as well as retail, entertainment and casino gaming facilities owned and operated by Las Vegas Sands.


The current agreement is nonbinding, with a final deal expected before the end of the second quarter. Las Vegas Sands also has plans to develop other hotel projects on the former Portuguese colony, including The Venetian Macao, a Four Seasons hotel, Starwood’s Sheraton and St. Regis brands, a Shangri-La Hotel and a Traders hotel.



– Superior Industries International Inc.

received new contracts to supply large-diameter aluminum wheels for General Motors Corp. passenger vehicles and SUVs. While the value of the contracts was not disclosed, the Van Nuys-based supplier of aluminum wheels to automakers said they represent a combination of new and replacement business.



– American States Water Co.

reported fourth-quarter net income of $5 million (30 cents per share), compared with $2.7 million (16 cents) for the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the San Dimas-based water service provider rose 9 percent to $57.8 million from $53 million in the year-prior period.


Fourth-quarter earnings were reduced by $5.4 million (19 cents per share) associated with a subsidiary’s recovery of previously incurred supply costs.
