Oil Prices Fall Below $60

Oil prices fell under $60 a barrel Monday as strong inventories counterbalanced lingering concerns about unrest in Nigeria and the possibility of U.N. sanctions against Iran.


Light, sweet crude for April delivery dropped 26 cents to $59.70 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by afternoon in Europe. Brent crude for April traded 7 cents lower at $60.76 a barrel.
