Stocks closed barely mixed on Wednesday as oil prices dropped sharply and interest rate worries limited the market’s gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 25.05, or 0.2 percent, to 11,005.74. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index climbed 2.59, or 0.2 percent, to 1,278.47. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.92, or 0.04 percent, to 2,267.46.

Local movers were led by Public Storage Inc., which gained 4.4 percent to $80.57, City National Corp., which rose 2.3 percent to $76.87, and True Religion Apparel Inc., which climbed 4.9 percent to $20.67. On the down side, UTi Worldwide Inc. fell 5.5 percent to $100.16, Saehan Bancorp lost 7.8 percent to $20.51 and Diodes Inc. slipped 3.6 percent to $35.40.
