Platinum Equity

has completed the sale of its portfolio company NextiraOne Europe to ABN AMRO Capital France, the French private equity business of ABN AMRO Capital. Financial details were not disclosed.

The company, which provides voice and data telecommunications services to European businesses, was the Los Angeles private equity firm’s first acquisition in Europe. It was a unit of Alcatel at the time of its 2002 acquisition, and now has headquarters in Paris.


Herbalife Ltd.

has announced sponsorships of sporting events in Germany and Russia, continuing with a strategy that has seen the Los Angeles weight management and nutritional supplement firm sponsor more than 35 triathlons, cycling races and other sporting events worldwide.

The company will be the official nutrition sponsor of the 24 hour Mountain Bike Race in Munich, part of Oktoberfest activities. It also will be represented by a four-man team at the race. In Russia, the company renewed its sponsorship of the Moscow International Peace Marathon for the third year.

El Segundo-based

Mattel Inc.

is introducing a new DVD board game this fall based on the highly popular “High School Musical,” a made-for-television movie that premiered on the Disney Channel. The game, which allows players to assume the identities of six movie characters, includes a game board, DVD and will be available this fall for $19.99.

Los Angeles-based

Docufide Inc.

was awarded a contract for what it is calling the largest electronic transcript contract in the nation, covering 25 percent of the country’s high school and college students. The service allows students to have their transcripts sent electronically to participating institutions and other destinations.

The contract covers 3 million high school and 4 million college students throughout the Midwestern Higher Education Compact region. Compact member states are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
