Another Rider Injured on Disney Ride

A woman passed out yesterday after getting off the “Mission: Space” flight simulator at Walt Disney Co.’s Epcot amusement park, the Orlando Sentinel reported.


The 35-year old woman apparently fell and hit her head the papaer reported and was later taken to a local hospital where she was examined, then released. According to the paper, the woman regained consciousness by the time rescue crews arrived, though wasn’t completely alert.


More than 200 people have been injured, treated by paramedics or have died on the flight simulator since the ride opened three years ago. According to the paper, two people have died, 12 have been hospitalized and 194 have been treated by paramedics for minor injuries.


In all, seven people have died at Disney World attractions in the past 18 months, almost all due to pre-existing cardiovascular problems. Disney officials were not immediately available for comment but according to the paper the ride has not been closed because it appeared that no malfunction had occurred.
