After rumors surfaced Wednesday of a potential 10-percent workforce reduction,

Napster Inc.

announced it had cut about 10 middle managers from its payroll, as a result of the consolidation of its online music subscription service and its music sales effort at Napster.com. However, L.A.-based Napster said that “rumors of major or significant layoffs were misleading and greatly exaggerated,” adding that it will likely hire new staff in 2006. The digital music company said that its “efforts to sell the company are patently untrue” and that it expects 100 percent year-over-year revenue growth.

& #8226; DigiCorp

said it entered into an agreement to acquire the Latino music Web site PerreoRadio.com and its assets. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Digicorp’s home video distribution subsidiary, Rebel Crew Films Inc., will be integrated with the site immediately, expanding the online presence of both entities, the Santa Monica-based digital media company said in a statement.

& #8226; CarsDirect.com

announced it acquired GreenHybrid.com, an online community Web site for hybrid car owners. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. GreenHybrid.com is home to thousands of hybrid owners who share practical advice about everything from new models to tips for getting better fuel efficiency out of the vehicles. CarsDirect, a division of Los Angeles-based Internet Brands, said the acquisition will allow its customers to be in contact with knowledgeable hybrid enthusiasts.
