Consumer Confidence Eases Slightly

Confidence in the U.S. economy eased slightly in January with some concern over rising home heating costs and still-strong gasoline prices, according to a survey released on Tuesday.


Investor’s Business Daily and TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence said their economic optimism index eased to 50.5 from 51.1 in December. January marked the first decline in the index in four months. A reading above 50 indicates optimism.
