Electro Rent Corp. reported second quarter net income of $4.9 million (19 cents per share), a 12.5-percent drop from $5.6 million (22 cents) for the same period a year earlier.

Revenue for the Van Nuys-based computer rental company was $31.5 million, an 11 percent increase over last year.

Shares in Electro Rent were down 23 cents to $15.79 early Thursday.
