DirecTV Group Inc. said Thursday that it is adding an extra year to its deal with AT & T; Inc. to receive toll-free 800 service and voice and data-network technology. The pact is worth $33 million.
AT & T; will continue to provide DirecTV with services and support for 18 call centers and 60 corporate locations, the El Segundo-based satellite TV provider said.
The contract extension will also have AT & T; enabling DirecTV to adopt Voice over Internet Protocol in its call centers and in some of its corporate offices. The two companies have a 10-year business relationship.
Shares in DirecTV were down 8 cents to $25.02 in early trading Thursday.
