OSI Systems Inc. said Thursday that it was awarded multiple contracts totaling $10 million for its Automated Hold Baggage Screening System.

The customers were not disclosed due to security reasons, the Hawthorne company said. OSI’s Rapiscan Systems was awarded the contracts and will install “several major international airports” with the equipment, the company said in a statement.

OSI estimates that the aviation market for baggage screening systems outside of the U.S will flourish over the next three years as older systems come due for replacement, OSI’s Chief Executive Deepak Chopra said.

Shares in OSI were up 32 cents to $19.65 in trading Thursday.
