Ronnie Lippin, PR Agent to Rock Stars, Dies at 59

Ronnie F. Lippin, president of Los Angeles-based Lippin Group, an entertainment, marketing and public relations firm, died Monday at Cedars Sinai Medical Center from a rare form of breast cancer. She was 59.


During her three-decade career in the industry, she co-managed Brian Wilson and did public relations work for an extensive portfolio of entertainers including Prince, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers, Olivia Newton-John, and Captain & Tennille. Lippin also represented the music division of Hallmark Cards and the Martin Guiter Co. Her husband, Dick Lippin, will continue as chairman and CEO of Lippin Group, which he founded in 1986.


Lippin served on the board of Free Arts for Abused Children in Los Angeles, and endowed ethics programs at Pennsylvania State University and Brandeis University in Massachussetts. She is survived by her daughter, who is a senior account executive at the Lippin Group. Her family is currently forming a foundation in Lippin’s name to study rare forms of cancer.
