Gasoline prices in most Southern California areas changed very little over the past week, with some areas seeing slight declines and others having slight increases, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch. Prices for diesel fuel are up five cents from a month ago to $3.32 a gallon and are up 20 cents from a year ago.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles Long Beach area is $3.233, which is one-tenth of a cent lower than last week, five cents lower than last month and 44 cents higher than last year. In San Diego, the price is $3.250, two cents below last week’s price, seven cents below last month and 45 cents above last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.393, up one-tenth of a cent from last week, two cents below last month and 53 cents higher than last year. In the Inland Empire, the average price is $3.261, up six-tenths of a cent from last week, five cents below last month and 50 cents higher than last year.

“Southern California prices have not moved too far in either direction since shooting upward the first week of July, and all areas remain within 25 cents of their all-time record high prices,” said Auto Club spokesperson Carol Thorp. “Crude oil has dropped back to near $70 a barrel on better supply news, now that it appears that repairs to Alaska oil pipelines won’t completely shut down production.”
