Crude Prices Gain

Oil prices rose Thursday and product prices fell after a U.S. inventory report showed shrinking crude stocks but an unexpected build in gasoline stocks.


Light sweet crude for November delivery gained 20 cents to $66.55 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gasoline fell 1 1/2 cents to $2.3250 a gallon, while heating oil eased the same amount to $2.1260. In London, Brent crude futures for November delivery were up 6 cents to $63.99 a barrel on the International Petroleum Exchange.
