Schwarzenegger’s Air Board Chair Rejected

As expected, the state Senate on Thursday rejected Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s pick to head the state Air Resources Board, despite a lobbying blitz from statewide business groups on her behalf.


On a party-line vote, Cynthia Tuck’s nomination was rejected; she must step down from her ARB post within 60 days. Tuck had previously lobbied on behalf of industry groups in Sacramento, earning praise from business leaders as a fair negotiator who often coaxed reluctant businesses to the bargaining table.
